This course consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction and meets the requirements for Joshua’s Law and qualifies for the Teen Driver’s Education insurance discount. (Georgia Code O.C.G.A. 33-9-42) The classroom portion is intended to teach students in small groups with one instructor. The students should have strong attention, behavior, and test taking skills. The fee for the course is $385 and covers both the classroom and behind the wheel portions.
In order to maintain the high quality and consistency of instruction, absences are not permitted. If a student misses a class or any portion of a class he/she will be dropped from the class roll at that point and may enroll in a future course as space allows. Please be careful to enroll in a session that you know your teen can complete without absences.
Upon successful completion of classroom and driving portions of the course, the student will receive a full certificate of completion and an Alcohol/Drug Awareness Program Certificate (ADAP).
All Driver’s Education cars are equipped with an instructor side brake and meet the requirements of the GA Department of Driver Services.
The behind the wheel instruction in this course is intended for students who have strong attention, intact sensory acuity and some experience driving a vehicle.
Behind-the-Wheel instruction is one-on-one instruction that occurs on the road in an MCDE DDS-approved vehicle. Students, with a permit number on file, are assigned in order based on their 30-hour class completion date and GA Driver’s Permit issue date. Once assigned, a driving instructor will contact the student's parent to schedule the 3 2-hour driving sessions.
Our office must have the student’s permit number and date of issue before the student can be assigned to a driver’s education instructor for their 6 hours of behind the wheel driving. If the permit information was not included on your student’s registration form, you will need to give us this information via email or phone before your student will be assigned to an instructor for the behind-the-wheel portion of instruction. You may email us at the following address: email@example.com. The student will not be assigned until we receive this information.
